1 Corinthians 1:26 “For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:”
Why did the Apostle Paul insist that we pay close attention to our calling? It is because in the calling that many people, when we miss the target, think God first needs a certain skill, or a certain size then call us to serve, or we think those with high rank are the ones God uses most in His work.
God’s call, unlike the human call, when God calls you, the first thing He does to you is to sweep you first, if you are a man of knowledge, or a certain rank, or some great education, it first removes your knowledge from him, makes you nothing, then now he send you, otherwise if you go with your title to him, you think that’s what will persuade him to walk with you, you know you’re lost.
Let’s look at Moses, he was Pharaoh’s heir, he had a great education that no one knows, the Bible tells us that Moses was taught all the wisdom of Egypt and he was also very good at speaking.
Romans 7:22 “Romans 7:22 “For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:”
And remember at that time a nation like Egypt was like the United States of today, it was a nation that was holding the world economy.
But we see when God began to draw him, he fled into the wilderness, and there he tended the flocks of his son-in-law Jethro, for a very long time of 40 years, all the while, God did not reveal Himself to him, nor reveal himself, you may wonder why it took all that time? all that God was first removing was the desire he had, his knowledge, which at first he thought he would probably use to save the children of Israel, but it turned out to be contrary to his expectations, he remained in that state for 40 years. life.
And when even his speaking ability was dead, then God called him, and that is why you will see when he was called by God the first thing he told him was that he was no longer a Spokesman, that he was no longer able to speak politics on the platform, as he had in the beginning.
Exodus 4: 10-11
10. And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
11. And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?
You See? The same Moses, the bible tells us he became POLITE more than all people on earth at that time. From being a murderer, to being the most gentle man of all time, it is not an easy thing to truly submit to God.
Numbers 12: 3 ” (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)”
Such a person is the one God walked with. And the principles of God are immutable, saying this, so it is, even now, God does not walk with people who consider themselves superior to others, they do not use people who consider themselves more educated or arrogant than their peers, they never use people who consider themselves superior to their peers. send you then prepare to be made like Moses,. Get ready to be downloaded first. Otherwise forget to be used by God.
And that is why if you go on there you will see him say.
1 Corinthians 1:26-29
26. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27. But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28. And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29. That no flesh should glory in his presence.
In the same way, people who do not have any skill are more likely to be used by God than people who are noble or highly educated, because they have nothing to boast about in God’s sight. And such people are the ones God reveals to many of his secrets.
Luke 10:21 ” In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.”
Likewise, people without much theological education are more likely to be used by God than others, because these have nothing to rely on except the guidance of the Holy Spirit, but the rest will depend on their religious education to support, protect, or honor them.
In the same way, we too should give serious thought to our calling, asking ourselves how much God we have given Him in our lives. Have we really brought down our pride and stripped off our knowledge, to allow Him to use us? Or we may be proud of ourselves and feel that we are unique in that we have an education, or we have titles, or we have more respect than others.
We should think of our calls , so that we can know where God wants us to walk with him,and start humble ourselves before him now. Because pride is the enemy of our ministry to God. When we want to be used by God we should put aside our pride, and see ourselves equally with others.
May God Bless you.
SEEK TO BE PEACEFUL WITH ALL PEOPLE.
