FOR WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE SPIRIT OF THE WORLD.
The Bible says;
1 Corinthians 2:10-12;”But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit; for the Spirit searcheth all things,yea, the deep things of God.
For what man knoweth the things of a man,save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.”
There exist only two spirits; the spirit of the world and the Spirit of God.He who lacks the Spirit of God has the spirit of the world.No human being lives (is controlled)by their own spirit.
The Spirit searches everything, even the mysteries of God.It is the Holy Spirit who reveals to us the secrets of the Heavenly Kingdom as well as God’s will in our lives.
John 16:13;”Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear,that shall he speak:and he will shew you things to come.”
All who have received the Spirit of God cannot live by what the people of the world uphold.Rather,they are constantly guided by the Holy Spirit to live by God’s standards.It is the work of the Holy Spirit that teach and guide God’s children in the ways of God.
On the contrary, the spirit of the world searches what is of the world and teachers people to live by it.Today, strange behavior and trends are cropping up,and many are embracing them as part of their lives.
It’s no wonder women love fashion, wearing miniskirts and trousers,use of make-up,etc.. While young men indulge in acts such as drunkenness, adultery, fornication, stealing,lying,bribery , love of money, listening to secular music, attending concerts .etc.,They do so under the influence of the spirit of this world.
The spirit of this world originates from Satan.If the Lord Jesus returns today,those who belong to the world will remain on earth.Suppose one dies while in living in sin,they will go right away into hell.
The Bible clearly says;
Romans 8:9;”Be ye are not in the flesh,but in the Spirit,if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ,he is none of his.”
Unless one has the Spirit of God, it’s obvious that they will not inherit the Kingdom.We are left with but a short while and the end of all things shall come.Let’s not compromise on our faith by holding onto the earthly things.Entertaining and taking part in the things of this world gives the devil a chance to invade into our lives.Be on the safe side,for these are the end times.
1 John 2:5;”Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
To receive the Spirit of God,one must first repent and turn away from their evil ways.The next step is be baptized (baptism by immersion) and in the name of Jesus Christ.God shall then send upon your life his Spirit to teach and guide you in doing his will and help you defeat sin.
Devote yourself to read the Bible (study and meditate on the Word), making prayer a priority in your daily life.Also join and be a part of a congregation of believers where you will have fellowship and worship God.As you go on in sincerely and diligently seeking to know God more,you will be filled by his indwelling Spirit as a seal upon your life.The Holy Spirit will also help work out your salvation.
