BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS, FOR THEY SHALL BE CALLED THE CHILDREN OF GOD.Have you ever asked yourself why the Lord Jesus was called the Son of God? Becoming God’s sons indeed is not just confined to believing and putting our trust in Him.It goes far beyond to having the ministry of reconciliation given to us by God.The Bible says;Matthew 5:9;”Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.”Why does the Bible say that peacemakers shall be called the children of God,and not saints,or kings,or high priests of the Most High, but rather God’s sons? The Lord Jesus was aware of this fact, and it’s the reason why he came on earth. He came to reconcile us to God.We who were once in an endless enmity with God due to sin,can now gain access to God through his Son Jesus Christ.2Corinthians 5:18-19;”And all things are of God,who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.
To wit, that God was in Christ , reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them;and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”The fact that Jesus laid aside his glory, and came down to earth to make us right with God,saw him become God’s son above all others. Thus, God himself testified about him in Matthew 3:17″…. This is my beloved Son,in whom I am well pleased.”Likewise, if we are to become God’s sons indeed,we have to take part in the ministry of reconciliation. We ought to work in winning souls for Christ. But we should keep in mind that uniting two who have had differences is not easy.It is something more than just a handshake or holding of the hands. It costs much to restore peace. It cost Jesus’ life in order to unite us to God.He set aside heaven’s glory and came into the world ; where he was rejected by those he came to reconcile. He humbled himself to the point of death on the cross, freely giving his life for our sake.Jesus was forcing for reconciliation that could otherwise not be arrived at by any means. This is because this enmity had taken root and it was not easy to make things right.Yet he did throw in the towel, until it surfaced itself. We are also called to the ministry of reconciliation. And therefore,we should work in reconciling others to God through Jesus Christ.Challenges are sure to surface in the the course of proclaiming the good news and drawing people to Christ. It is not an easy task as could imagine. Many have been disheartened from preaching the good news. Some react negatively to Christians who try to pressure them into making a decision to trust Jesus as Savior. They even insult and mistreat them. However, we are to ensure that they hear about Jesus, regardless of the cost to us.They may ridicule and make fun of us but at the end of the day they will change. You never know what God could be doing in someone’s heart. As you keep working to lead people into safety, you grow more and more like Christ until you attain the fullness of Christ. And as a result, whatever you ask from God he shall grant. In addition, you find immeasurably great favour with God and can do all his works , according to his words in;John 5:20-21;”For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth:and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
For as the Father raiseth up the dead , and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.”Such are the benefits of being God’s true children.Let’s willingly serving in proclaiming the good news. This is how we claim our sonship to God.Do all you can to bring all those around your world to Christ as soon as possible. They may not respond properly to our efforts, but it won’t be so with all of them.Knowing that it costs much in reconciling those whose relationship has faltered gives poise. We can be at peace as we patiently bear with whatever comes out way as we minister to others. Please share this message with others too.God bless you.
