Today we will learn how our problems can blind us even to the point of not seeing our miracles.
There are times when God, already, has already begun to work miracles for us, but because we give our problems so much more than they deserve, it even leads us to see miracles as nothing when they begin to come.
Imagine when Christ died and was laid in a tomb, we see many things going on there, but the greatest thing we can learn today is the story of Mary Magdalene, When he got there he began to weep bitterly, thinking of all the miracles that Jesus had done for her since he was on earth, thinking of how he had lived a life of justice and love without hypocrisy, and he had done nothing wrong, and today he sees that they had killed him and left him, but this time they stole his border and his body too, that’s what made her cry so much, so much so that she couldn’t get out of there just keep crying.
But the bible tells us soon when she was standing there looking in the grave she suddenly saw two angels, They are sitting, one at the head of the place where they laid Jesus and the other at the feet. But the two angels asked him a question, ‘Why are you crying, Mother?
John 20:11-13
11. But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre,
12. And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
13. And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.
Imagine, the agony of thoughts made her forget that they were angels of God, The agony of the theft of the Lord made her not even think about where the two men in bright white clothes came from at that time, and what they were doing there. He immediately began to speak as they were ordinary people she meets on the street all day.
If that wasn’t enough, as she continued to cry out, she saw someone else walking around, (she did not know if it was Jesus) then Jesus asked her the same question the angels asked her. “Why are you crying?”
John 20:15-16
15. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.
16. Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.
You see, when Jesus turned and startled MARY !!! .. Then he was shocked and realized that this was Jesus standing in front of him. If she had not been reassured, she would still be sitting in her grief-stricken state, weeping bitterly as Jesus spoke to her.
Sometimes our desires become too great, until they blind us to the ability to see God’s miracles, if not to see God Himself.
You will see something like this in Balaam, when he wanted to go and curse Israel, when he was on his way, his ass was opened by God, and he began to speak to him. as if it were a miracle, instead he started talking to her just as he talks to a fellow human being..As did Mary.
Numbers 22:28-31
28. And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?
29. And Balaam said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee.
30. And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? And he said, Nay.
31.Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.
Have you seen? Perhaps you too have focused on your problems, rather than on God’s power. Maybe there are great miracles God has already done for you but you can’t see it because every time you go to God you are only looking at the magnitude of your problems, and not God’s power.
You forget that it is the Angels of the Lord standing where you are crying , you forget that it is Jesus Himself is the great Life, standing beside you talking to you and you about your problem, but you are just crying. God has heard you, but, thank Him, talk to Him, you will see many miracles that He has already begun to do for you in your life.
May God bless you.
